I have always felt that movement and mind-body connection are important since my interests in horseback riding, swimming, cycling, and patient care in the physical therapy setting. This movement and mind-body connection are very relevant in Pilates practice as well.
I graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in physical therapy. I have been a physical therapist since 1984 to present. In the years of experience as a physical therapist, I have specialized in spine care and I became credentialed in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy through Mckenzie Institute in 2000. Also, I have taken several continuing education courses in management of low bone mass and osteoporosis patients. I am now finding a new passion for helping people through Pilates. I became a Polestar Pilates Rehab Practitioner in June of 2021. Also, I furthered my testing and became credentialed as a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT) in August 2021.
Teaching and practicing Pilates are the most rewarding opportunities to not only improve fitness, but encourage movement, breath, and focus of the mind. It is rewarding to see a client complete a Pilates session and note improvement with their posture, fitness level, confidence, and sense of well-being.
